Tiger Direct will never get my money again
From this day forward I will stay loyal to newegg.com. I received a 50$ gift card from work last week for being a superstar. The gift card was administered by GiftCertificates.com and the only hardware provider I saw was TigerDirect.com.
So I made my gift card selection and received the confirmation code and went to their(tiger) website. I selected the item I wanted and went through their checkout process, their documentation says you will prompted for payment types and that where you will select gift card. I went through the steps and lo and behold I ordered my item but was never prompted for a gift card code (cha - ching).
I was livid called support and was told in no uncertain terms could i have my CC credit back for the balance, EVEN though it was there system failure. I had to order AGAIN and OVER THE PHONE (cha-ching) to be able to use the gift card and receive the 50 credit. This is such a dishonest process and for tiger to be completely unapologetic is unacceptable. So from here on out they will not see a drop of my cash ever agian. and I strongly recommend others to learn from my mistake.
I just stumbled across your post tonight in my travels on the internet. I completely understand our system failure at the time you were checking out. As with anything - cars, computers, cellphones - sometimes things don't work just right and need fixed. Something we cannot control - just something that sometimes arises and requires certain features to be temporarily offline for a short period of time. I am happy one our agents was able to assist you - and again I apologize for our temporary system gift card redemption outage. If there is anything I can do in the future, I'd be more than happy to ensure you receive free shipping.
We truly are here to ensure each customer has a great experience. If we don't people won't come back - and then we lose a customer. It's a challenge getting new customers in a highly competitive marketplace, and we truly want to extend that to every customer 100% of the time.
